Pakistan announce ODI and T20I squads for Sri Lanka women’s series
Pakistan have named their women’s ODI and T20I squads for the Sri Lanka tour in Hambantota later this month. Fatima Sana will lead the ODI side, while Muneeba Ali Siddiqui will captain the T20I team.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan have unveiled their 15-player squads for the women’s ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka, with the matches scheduled to be played in Hambantota from July 23 to August 4.
The Women’s National Selection Committee has retained Fatima Sana as captain for the ODI leg of the tour, while Muneeba Ali Siddiqui will lead the T20I side in Fatima’s absence. The 24-year-old all-rounder is set to head to England after the ODI series to feature in The Hundred, becoming the first Pakistan women’s cricketer to take part in the competition.
Fatima goes into the tour after a strong ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign in England and Wales, where she took 11 wickets in five matches and scored 85 runs, including a half-century. Her performances also earned her a place in the Team of the Tournament at the end of the 12-team event.
Changes in T20I squad
Pakistan have made eight changes to the T20I squad that represented the country at the recent Women’s T20 World Cup, in what the selectors described as part of a push to bring emerging players into the national setup. The players brought into the T20I squad are Eman Naseer, Humna Bilal, Maham Anees, Momina Riasat, Najiha Alvi, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Umm-e-Hani and Waheeda Akhtar.
Among them, Eman Naseer, Maham Anees and Momina Riasat are yet to make their T20I debuts and could receive their first international caps during the series. In the ODI squad, Maham Anees and Saira Jabeen are the two uncapped players named for the three-match series.
Schedule and squads
The three ODIs, which also count towards the ICC Women’s Championship 2025-29, will be played on July 23, 25 and 28. Pakistan are due to arrive in Sri Lanka on July 20 and will train on July 21 and 22 ahead of the opening match.
