Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas has directed the officials concerned to coordinate with electricity distribution companies to stop unnecessary load shedding on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

According to a statement issued on Saturday, he directed the Supply and Prices Department to check profiteering and ensure availability of standard commodities in the markets.

He stressed the need for making better traffic arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Abbas also directed the officials ensure cleanliness and make necessary arrangements for disposal of offal of sacrificial animals.

He also directed that cleanliness be also ensured in the cattle markets across the province.

WATER PUMPING STATION: Water supply to the city from Hub pumping station remained suspended on Saturday due to power disruption by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) said in a statement issued on Saturday.

“The city will face 100 million gallons water shortage due to the non-functioning of the pumping station,” the KWSB stated.

According to the statement, KWSB Managing Director Misbahuddin Fareed said that the areas receiving water from the Hub pumping station will face water shortage during Eid.

He demanded that the KESC should restore the power supply to the pumping station immediately so that the people do not face difficulties.
