Amir, Yahya, Junaid record victories in Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship

LAHORE: The courts of the Punjab Tennis Academy at Bagh-e-Jinnah were abuzz with high-octane action as the Millat Tractors Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 entered its decisive stages. Organised by the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA), the tournament saw top-seeded juniors battling for supremacy across various age categories.

The boys U-18 category delivered some of the most intense matchups of the day. Amir Mazari of Aitchison displayed clinical precision to defeat Omer Jawad 6-4, 6-1 to secure his spot in the semifinals while Muhammad Yahya recorded a convincing 6-1, 6-4 victory over Hamza Ali Rizwan. In the most grueling match of the session, Muhammad Junaid Khan staged a remarkable comeback against M Umar Ali. After losing the first set 0-6, Junaid rallied back to take the next two sets 6-4, 7-5. Ruhab Faisal also advanced by overcoming Muhammad Muaz 6-4, 6-3.

The U-14 quarterfinals showcased the technical prowess of the younger cohort. Muhammad Junaid continued his winning streak by defeating Ohad-e-Mustafa 5-3, 4-2. Muhammad Ayan and Muhammad Muaz also progressed comfortably as Ayan outpaced Behroze Memon 4-1, 4-1 while Muaz outlasted M Faizan 4-1, 4-0. M Ibraheem Hussain Gill showed great resilience, edging out Aliyan Ali 4-0, 3-5, 4-1.

Meanwhile in the boys U-18 doubles quarterfinals, Muhammad Ahmad Afzal/Moazzam Babar outplayed Attique ur Rehman/Muteeb ur Rehman while Bilal Awais/Rehaan Khan beat Murtaza Hassan/Hassan Alam 6-1, 6-3. In the girls U-14 division, Esha Rabi thrashed Shahreen Umer 4-0, 4-0, Khadija Khalil beat Shahnoor Umer 4-1, 4-0 while Shahnoor Umer beat Wajeeha Fatima 5-4, 4-0 and Eman Shahbaz beat Zainah Abdullah 4-2, 4-0.

The boys U-12 pre-quarterfinals, M Ayan beat Mamnoon Bari 4-2, 4-2, M Daniyal beat Salaar Khan 4-1, 5-4, M Ibraheem Hussain Gill beat Riyan Omer Khalil 5-4, 4-0, M Faizan beat Behroze Memon 4-2, 5-3, Mustafa Zia beat M Turab Bhatti 4-0, 4-0, Daniyal Abdullah beat Ashtar Alam Khan 4-1, 4-1 and Mustafa Uzair Rana beat  Isfahan Wander 4-0, 4-0.

In the boys U-12 doubles quarterfinals, M Faizan/Salaar Khan beat M Daniyal/Riyan Umer Khalil 4-0, 2-4, 10-5 while Ashtar Alam Khan/Behroze Memon beat M Ehsan Bari/Mamnoon Bari 4-2, 4-2 and Daniyal Afzal Malik/Hadi Ali Rizwan defeated Mustafa Zia/Wali M Hassan 0-4, 4-2, 14-12 after a tough fight.
