GTA 6 may delay physical release to curb leaks, report suggests

Fresh speculation around Grand Theft Auto VI has emerged after a report claimed that Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, may delay the game’s physical release to reduce the risk of leaks and spoilers.

GTA VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, but a report by Polish publication PPE has suggested that while the release itself remains on track, the format could change. According to the report, the game may debut as a digital-only release, with boxed copies arriving later.

The claim was attributed to gaming insider Graczdari, who has previously made accurate predictions about major releases, including Oblivion: Remastered. The report said Take-Two is not prepared to roll out a physical edition alongside the digital launch, citing concerns over spoilers, an issue that has troubled Rockstar during development.

According to the source, physical copies could be released several weeks after the digital launch or potentially pushed as far as 2027. The aim, the report said, would be to limit the chances of early leaks that often accompany physical distribution.

The report has triggered renewed debate among fans about the possibility of further changes to the game’s rollout, though it stressed that a delay to the overall release date was unlikely.

Clarity may come soon, as Take-Two’s next quarterly earnings call is scheduled for February 3, when the company could share more information about GTA 6 pre-orders and its launch strategy.
