Samsung introduces Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic edition

Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, a special device created exclusively for athletes competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung will provide the device to nearly 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians from around 90 countries, supporting them throughout their stay in the Olympic Village and during competition.

The Olympic Edition smartphone is designed to enhance the Games-time experience by helping athletes capture, share, and connect during key moments, from daily life in the village to celebrations on the podium. One of its most notable roles will be in the Victory Selfie, which will make its Winter Olympics debut at Milano Cortina 2026. For the first time, the concept will also extend to team sports, allowing entire teams to document their medal moments together.

Samsung said the device reflects its long-standing focus on athlete-centred innovation. Company executives noted that the Olympic Edition continues a tradition that began at Sochi 2014, with the aim of helping athletes stay connected with family, fans, and fellow competitors during some of the most significant moments of their careers.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 itself is positioned as a compact, AI-powered device built for convenience and reliability. It features an edge-to-edge FlexWindow, one-handed usability, and Galaxy AI integration. Key features include a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel wide lens, personalised daily updates through the Now Brief feature, AI-powered photo editing tools, and an on-device interpreter that offers real-time translation even without a network connection.

The Olympic Edition also stands out through its distinctive design. The back glass comes in a signature blue inspired by the Milano Cortina 2026 identity and Italian azure, while a gold metal frame symbolises excellence and podium success. The device is paired with a clear magnetic case accented by a blue circle and gold laurel leaves, echoing themes of victory and unity. Special Olympic-themed wallpapers and animations further tie the phone to the Winter Games.

Athletes will also have access to features tailored specifically for storytelling and connection. Dual Recording allows users to capture both their surroundings and their own reactions at the same time, while split-view options enable creative angles and real-time previews on the FlexWindow. These tools are intended to help athletes share authentic perspectives of their Olympic journey.

To support daily needs, the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition comes preloaded with a curated set of apps and services. These include the Galaxy Athlete Card for digital networking among athletes, a 100GB 5G eSIM for connectivity, Samsung Wallet access for digital passes, and integration with Athlete365 for performance and mental health support. Fitness tracking tools and official Olympic apps are also included to streamline life inside the Olympic and Paralympic Villages.

Samsung will begin distributing the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition at Olympic Villages across six cities starting January 30. Dedicated Samsung Open Stations will offer on-site technical support, helping athletes activate their devices, transfer data, and resolve any issues during the Games.

The company said the initiative reflects its broader goal of shaping the future Games-time experience through mobile innovation, enabling athletes to share their stories from preparation to the podium while bringing fans closer to the moments that define the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
