LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has addressed recent media reports regarding the finalization of names for the new franchises in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In a statement, the PCB clarified that successful bidders will have the option to choose a team name from a list of approved cities. The cities shortlisted by the board include Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
The PCB welcomed the increasing interest in acquiring franchise rights for two new teams in future PSL editions. PSL CEO Salman Naseer confirmed last month that an auction will be held for these two new franchises in the 11th edition of the tournament.
The public advertisement for tendering the Team Franchise Rights was published on November 15, 2025, inviting bids from interested parties worldwide. The deadline for submitting technical proposals is December 15, 2025, at 11 a.m.
