XIAN: Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China on Thursday said that China attaches great importance to the development of the China-Europe freight train.
He was addressing the participants of the second China-Europe Freight Train International Cooperation Forum which was opened in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province on Thursday.
Ding Xuexiang said President Xi Jinping stressed that China-Europe freight trains should be developed toward higher quality, better efficiency, and more safety.
“As a flagship project for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, the China-Europe freight train has adapted to the trend of the times and achieved leapfrog development. It has become an international logistics brand with strong radiation, driving force and influence, and has become a tireless ‘steel camel fleet’ on the Silk Road economic belt,” he said.
Ding Xuexiang pointed out that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China drew up a blueprint for China’s development in the next five years and made important deployments to enhance the development level of the China-Europe freight train.
He said China stands ready to work with all parties to uphold the Silk Road spirit, actively communicate and cooperate, promote the development of the China-Europe freight train to a new level, and better promote economic exchanges and mutual learning between Asia and Europe.
He made four proposals: First, strengthen openness and connectivity, deepen coordination between infrastructure and rules and standards, effectively coordinate transportation modes such as rail, road and sea transport, and consolidate and enhance the advantages of multiple channels.
Second, we will strengthen cooperation and innovation, actively promote the application of high-tech technologies, accelerate the digital and intelligent construction of the China-Europe freight train, and cultivate new drivers of sustainable development.
Third, we should strengthen risk management, strengthen the synergy between transportation development strategies, establish and improve mechanisms for law enforcement exchange and collaboration, advance information connectivity and sharing, and build a solid foundation for security development.
Fourth, we will strengthen integrated development, support deeper synergy and extensive cooperation among enterprises along the routes, maintain the stability of international industrial and supply chains, realize a virtuous circle of smooth logistics, trade development and industrial upgrading, and promote economic prosperity in the areas along the route.
