KARACHI: Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Mawra Hocane have embraced the viral “acha jee” trend, which was started by Karachi-based influencer Samra Shehzadi. The two stars recently shared videos mimicking Samra’s famous catchphrase, sending netizens into a frenzy.
Mahira Khan took to Instagram to share a story where she not only imitated Samra but also playfully questioned, “Acha jee aisa hai kya?” [Oh, is that so?] She tagged Samra in the post and wrote: “Same to same Mahira Khan … acha jee aisa hai kya?” In the caption, Mahira expressed her affection by writing, “I love you, you’re a little star.”
Mahira also responded sweetly to Samra, saying: “My dear, stay blessed, stay happy, Ameen.”
Mawra Hocane, too, followed suit and shared a video copying Samra, which added to the excitement.
Samra, who gained popularity for her bubbly personality and the catchphrase, was thrilled by the support from the renowned actors. She reposted Mahira’s Instagram story, expressing her gratitude: “I love you too, JazakAllah.”
In an interview with Geo Digital, Samra shared her disbelief, saying she couldn’t believe Mahira had mimicked her. “Seriously, I love it! I like Mahira Khan so much […] I am so happy,” she said.
Samra, who works as a machine operator in a garments factory, has always dreamed of becoming an actress and supporting her family.
