ISLAMABAD: Pakistani fashion designer Maria B has stirred controversy by exposing what she claims to be a disturbing private party in Lahore. Known for her luxury clothing brand and outspoken views, Maria B shared shocking videos and images on Instagram that were reportedly sent to her by children who attended the event. These visuals showed devil masks, drag performances, red lighting, and upside-down writings, which Maria B condemned as “vulgar” and connected to Illuminati influence.
In her statement, Maria B expressed concern over the event, calling it a promotion of “satanic themes” and hidden messages. She drew comparisons to the people of Lut in the Quran, warning of moral corruption. She also stated that this could harm Pakistan’s values and negatively affect the country’s youth. Her stance has received support from many followers who applaud her courage in speaking out against what they see as a threat to cultural and religious norms.
The public outcry led Lahore police to initiate an investigation into the event. The videos, which involved 50-60 people, including transgender individuals, went viral and prompted legal action. The Punjab government ordered arrests, and an FIR was filed, including charges under the Pakistan Penal Code and the Sound System Act.
However, a Lahore magistrate dismissed the case against the accused transgender individuals, citing the lack of concrete evidence linking them to the alleged offenses. The court also pointed out procedural issues with the police raid and the absence of private witnesses, leading to the discharge of all accused parties.
Maria B, who has previously sparked debates with her opinions on feminism and LGBTQ+ rights, has also clashed with activists over issues such as her opposition to the Aurat March and the film Joyland.
