The empire of lies

How Israel’s War Propaganda endangers the world

In the theatre of global geopolitics, few narratives have been as warped, manipulated, and bloodstained as the one Israel has spun about its so-called existential threat from Iran. But as the world watches the Middle East burn, it becomes increasingly clear: the real threat to peace is not Tehran, it is Tel Aviv. And the cost of silence, complicity, and selective outrage is spiralling toward a global catastrophe.

One of the most daring hoaxes in modern history is Israel’s propaganda campaign against Iran, which has lasted for decades. For years, Israel has promoted false information about Iran’s nuclear aspirations with support from the USA, even though the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and numerous international observers have shown that Iran was actually abiding by international laws, particularly those outlined in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). At the urging of Israel, which has continuously pushed for conflict over diplomacy, Donald Trump sabotaged that laboriously negotiated agreement, not Iran. The lies didn’t end there, though.

In 2020, Israel committed an act of international terrorism under the pretext of “defense” when it killed Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator and scientist, in a move so blatant it would make even the most seasoned warhawk blink. Fakhrizadeh was not in charge of a programme to develop weapons. He served as a bridge to possible peace and the cornerstone of Iranian diplomacy. That bridge was not desired by Israel. They blew it up as a result. Literally.

Iran’s nuclear programme has long been the subject of intense international scrutiny, despite the scare tactics promoted by Israeli officials and those in the West who support them. Iran was enriching uranium at just 3.67 percent, far below the 90 percent weapons-grade threshold, prior to the US withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018— a deal that Israel vigorously lobbied to sabotage. Iran’s enrichment remained a reaction to provocation rather than a step toward weaponization even after the deal fell through.

Iran has reportedly enriched small amounts of uranium up to 60 percent as of 2024; this is still below weapons-grade and falls within the technical rights of a nation whose security has been threatened on numerous occasions. There is still no concrete proof of a weapons programme, according to the IAEA’s ongoing inspections of Iranian facilities. However, because peace with Iran has never fit Israel’s agenda, Israel, which has its own undeclared nuclear warheads and has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), continues to spread the myth of an impending Iranian bomb. A vilified Iran is more beneficial to Tel Aviv than a diplomatic one.

Israel has intensified its aggression ever since. Under the fictitious guise of “preemptive defense,” Tel Aviv has continuously targeted Iranian officials, civilian convoys, and infrastructure in a campaign of illegal airstrikes throughout Syria and Lebanon. These aren’t military surgical procedures. These are calculated acts of war intended to cause regional instability and elicit a reaction from Iran that might warrant a full-scale conflict.

Israel has intensified its aggression ever since. These aren’t military surgical procedures. These are calculated acts of war intended to cause regional instability and elicit a reaction from Iran that might warrant a full-scale conflict.

The most horrifying example of Israeli aggression is not in its conflicts with Iran, but rather in Gaza, where a genocide has been taking place for two years while the world watches. Since 2023, Israel has carried out an ethnic cleansing campaign that is so vicious and unrepentantly brutal that even Western media, which has long been complicit in the crimes committed by Tel Aviv, has been forced to acknowledge the extent of the carnage.

Whole communities collapsed. Hospitals were bombed. Murders of journalists. Children buried under debris. As of June 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry reports that since the outbreak in October 2023, more than 55,000 Palestinians had been killed and more than 127,000 had been injured. Women and children make up the majority of those killed.According to the UN, in the last 20 months alone, more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured.

Nevertheless, Israel’s propaganda apparatus fabricates the tale of “self-defence,” with the help of US media outlets that refuse to refer to it as genocide. To be clear, the situation in Gaza is not a “conflict.” It’s not a “war.” Extermination is what it is. White phosphorus and missiles are used to enforce apartheid. And it is taking place with the full financial and military backing of the USA, whose $3.8 billion annual military aid to Israel finances every war crime, bullet, and bomb.

Israel and Iran are no longer the only topics of discussion. It concerns the essence of international law. It has to do with the breakdown of diplomacy. It concerns our world’s future. Because the question of whether a world war will break out will no longer be relevant if the current course is followed if America continues to provide support, if Israel continues to escalate, and if the world continues to look on in silence. When will be the question. And history will remember who poured the fuel, lit the match, and stood back and referred to the fire as “defence” on that day. It wasn’t Iran. It wasn’t. The empire of lies was what it was. It was Israel.

Like its predecessors, the Trump Administration has demonstrated unquestioning allegiance to Israel’s war machine. Washington says nothing when Israel attacks Baghdad and Damascus. The USA vetoes international resolutions when Israeli snipers target UN shelters and aid convoys. The USA magnifies Israel’s lies about Iranian nuclear weapons. In addition to giving Israeli aggression more confidence, Washington and Tel Aviv’s unholy alliance has also protected it from criticism. The world is now on the verge of collapse.

The shadow war between Iran and Israel has intensified to terrifying new heights in recent weeks. Drone strikes in Syria and Iraq have targeted Iranian military advisors and Quds Force commanders. Iran responded by firing ballistic missiles at Israeli-affiliated locations in Erbil, sending a message to the world and not just to Israel that we will no longer bleed in silence. A terrifyingly straightforward question hangs over all of this: Are we witnessing the beginning of World War III? The risk of global escalation is no longer hypothetical, it is imminent with Israel displaying its nuclear ambiguity while accusing Iran of nuclear ambition, several U.S. military bases now within striking range of Iranian missiles, and regional militias from Yemen to Lebanon poised to ignite.

A long-suspected truth was revealed by a recent CNN investigative report: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been spreading the same tired lie for more than 20 years: that Iran is “weeks away” from developing a nuclear weapon. Without a shred of credible proof, Netanyahu has spread fear about Iran’s nuclear programme since the early 1990s from every platform, including the UN General Assembly and American cable news. The report emphasizes how Netanyahu’s nuclear alarmism has been more about political survival than it has been about facts, using fear to gain public support, military budgets, and strategic diversions. Netanyahu always pulls the Iran card when he sees his political influence waning, using the pretext of national security to escalate tensions, incite attacks, and declare war. This is not a defense. This is an obsession. Doctrine is what this is. Netanyahu views war with Iran as a political lifeline rather than a last resort. And his illusions have cost the world dearly.

Still, the prevailing narrative in Western capitals is so distorted that it is unrecognizable. Israel is portrayed as the helpless victim. Iran, the ever-present antagonist. And anyone who questions this hideous reversal of reality is labeled an extremist, an antisemite, or a supporter of terrorism. However, the truth is out. It’s uncooked. It’s bloody. It is also inconvenient. In actuality, Israel seeks dominance over peace. In actuality, Israel has murdered thousands of defenseless civilians in order to maintain the appearance of security.

In actuality, when Israel killed Iran’s peace architects, it ruined diplomacy. In actuality, Israel’s war propaganda is a smokescreen for a genocidal project that has destroyed Palestine’s borders, identity, and very existence. Iran has been the adult in the room for far too long, despite all the demonization. A country that has been surrounded, assaulted, and disparaged yet continues to stand, defend its independence, and demand justice.
