TEHRAN: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that Iran would never surrender, as the Iranian military launched a volley of hypersonic missiles at Israel. The missile barrage came on the sixth day of the ongoing war between the two countries, which escalated after Israel destroyed Iran’s internal security headquarters in Tehran.
In a televised address, Khamenei criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s calls for Tehran’s “unconditional surrender,” labeling them unacceptable and warning the U.S. against military involvement in the conflict. He stated, “America should know that any military intervention will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage.”
Meanwhile, Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Israeli airstrikes had destroyed Iran’s internal security headquarters, calling it a key component of Iran’s repressive apparatus. Additionally, Iranian internet services faced disruptions due to heavy restrictions imposed by the government, citing abuse of the communication network by the aggressors.
Iran reported that Israeli strikes had killed at least 224 people, including military commanders and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, Iran launched missile strikes targeting Israel, which resulted in several fatalities and injuries, including the deaths of 24 people in Israel and hundreds more wounded.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted critical components of Iran’s nuclear program, including centrifuge manufacturing plants in Karaj and Tehran. Despite Iran’s denials, Israel continues to target what it claims are Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons.
French President Emmanuel Macron called for an end to Israeli strikes on Iranian sites unrelated to nuclear or missile activities, highlighting the growing international concern over the conflict’s escalation.
