Kate Middleton Makes Emotional Admission About Princess Lilibet on Her Birthday

Kate Middleton has shared a heartfelt wish for her niece, Princess Lilibet, as the young royal celebrates her fourth birthday today, June 4. Lilibet, the daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, was born in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California and lives with her parents and older brother, Prince Archie, in Montecito.

Despite the strained relationship between the Sussexes and the royal family, Kate has expressed her desire to connect with her niece in the past. In a TikTok video from June 2021, shortly after Lilibet’s birth, Kate shared her excitement for the little princess, saying, “I wish her all the very best.” She added, “I can’t wait to meet her, because we haven’t yet… met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon.” When asked about FaceTiming with Lilibet, Kate’s response was tinged with sadness: “No, I haven’t. No.”

Lilibet on her first birthday

Though Lilibet’s third birthday last year saw a private celebration hosted by Harry and Meghan, it was reported that no members of the royal family attended, and no invitations were extended to them. The celebration was intimate, with close friends and Lilibet’s young companions in attendance.

For her fourth birthday, Meghan Markle shared two candid black-and-white photos of Lilibet. In one, Meghan lovingly embraces her daughter during a recent boat outing. The second photo, a throwback, captures Meghan cradling baby Lilibet. Accompanying the images, Meghan wrote an emotional caption: “Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives – and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”
