Shiloh Jolie Snubs Dad Brad Pitt As She Debuts New Name Amid Rare Public Appearance

Shiloh Jolie, the 19-year-old daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, made a rare but striking public appearance at a private event in Los Angeles, debuting a new identity and captivating the crowd with her talent. The occasion marked Isabel Marant’s capsule collection launch with Net-A-Porter, held at the stylish and historic Oliver House in Silver Lake. Although the event brought together notable fashion figures and celebrities, it was Shiloh’s unexpected choreographed dance that stole the spotlight.

Now going by the name “Shi,” Shiloh choreographed a stunning dance piece performed by dancers Keoni Rose and Tako Suzuki, set to live music by singer-songwriter Luella. The performance accompanied Luella’s new single, “Naïve,” adding emotional depth to the evening.

For the occasion, Shiloh wore a sleek black tailored suit, pairing it with a white shirt, black tie, and a short, boyish haircut. Her appearance was a moment of quiet yet powerful self-expression, reflecting a more intimate side of the typically private teen. It also showcased the strong bond within the Jolie-Pitt family, as her presence resonated with attendees.

Shiloh, who was born Shiloh Nouvel Jolie on May 27, 2006, in Namibia, has largely kept a low profile in recent years. She was the first biological child of Angelina and Brad, joining adopted siblings Maddox, Zahara, Pax, and later, twins Knox and Vivienne.

Despite her rare public outings, Shiloh remains very protective of her privacy. Angelina shared in a 2024 interview on The Tonight Show that her children, especially Shiloh, prefer to stay out of the spotlight. “She really, really wants to be private. Just private. Not photographed,” Angelina said. “She most of all likes privacy.”

The past few years have marked significant changes for Shiloh, including her decision to file to remove her father’s last name after turning 18. This move came after years of limited public appearances with Brad, the last being in 2014 at the U.S. premiere of Unbroken. Brad has previously spoken about Shiloh’s preference to be called “John,” a nickname she embraced from a young age. This unique part of her journey reflects her evolving sense of identity and personal autonomy.
