Muslim boy beaten to death by teachers in UP

LUCKNOW: A 15-year-old Muslim boy from Madaiya village in Kannauj city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh was locked in a room and beaten to death by three teachers at a private school.

Dilshan alias Raja, a ninth grade student, was allegedly tortured over the accusation of stealing a watch, police said.

The boy succumbed to injuries in a Kanpur hospital. Dilshan’s father, Jahangir, in his police complaint said the boy had gone to RS Inter College on July 23 for admission. One of the teacher, Shivkumar Yadav, called Dilshan to the room and accused him of stealing a watch.

Yadav with his fellow teachers, Prabhakar and Vivek Yadav, allegedly locked the student in a room and beat him mercilessly.

Police said post-mortem report will explain the cause of death, and action will be taken accordingly.
