Vettori named Australia’s spin consultant for white-ball leg of Pakistan tour

Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori will be part of Australia’s coaching set-up for the white-ball leg of Pakistan, Cricket Australia confirmed today.

The 43-year-old will join the Aussies as a spin-bowling consultant for three ODIs and a T20I in Lahore from March 29 to April 5.

He will start working with the Australian white-ball squad in Melbourne this week before they depart for Pakistan.

Vettori’s last international assignment was with the Bangladesh team as their spin bowling coach between 2019 and 2021. He was also a member of Australia’s set-up for a short time before their 2017 tour of India.

Remember, Aussies had named Pakistan-born Australian cricketer Fawad Ahmed as the consultant for the three-match Test series.

Pakistan and Australia will play the third and final Test of the three-match series from tomorrow at Gaddafi Stadium. The white-ball leg will also be hosted by Lahore
