Sea winds bring slight relief as Karachi temperature dips
Strong sea breezes lowered Karachi’s maximum temperature by 0.8°C on Monday, bringing brief relief after recent rain. Hot and humid weather is still expected to persist over the next three days.
Karachi saw a modest drop in temperature on Monday as strong sea breezes swept across the city, with the maximum temperature settling at 34.4°C after falling by 0.8°C, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said.
The Met Office said southwesterly winds persisted through the day and reached a top speed of 42 kilometres per hour. The stronger wind flow came as the weather system linked to the city’s recent rains weakened and moved away.
For the next three days, the Early Warning Centre has forecast partly cloudy, hot and humid weather in Karachi, with temperatures expected to remain between 34°C and 36°C.
The Met Office said gusty conditions are also likely to continue on Tuesday.
