Four arrested over assaulting traffic wardens

LAHORE: City Traffic Police Lahore arrested four men after two separate incidents in which traffic wardens were allegedly assaulted while enforcing road rules, officials said on Monday.

According to police, the confrontations took place when wardens stopped motorists over wrong parking and over-speeding violations. The suspects were accused of misbehaving with the officials and physically attacking them during the enforcement action.

Police said four suspects had been taken into custody, while two other individuals involved in the incidents escaped. No further details about the identity of the arrested men or the locations of the incidents were provided in the official account.

Chief Traffic Officer Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi took notice of the two cases and ordered legal action against those involved, officials said.
