Missile-like object recovered from Islamabad neighbourhood

ISLAMABAD: A missile-like object was recovered from a residential sector of Islamabad, prompting security agencies to launch an investigation into its origin and how it ended up in the area.

Police and security officials rushed to the scene after receiving reports about the object and immediately cordoned off the surrounding area. A bomb disposal squad was called in to examine it and ensure there was no danger to residents.

After carrying out an initial inspection, the team safely removed the object and shifted it to a secure location for detailed forensic and technical analysis.

Officials said investigators are working to determine whether the object is a genuine missile or a replica, as well as whether it was functional or inert.

Authorities have urged residents to report any suspicious objects to law enforcement agencies and avoid handling them under any circumstances while the investigation continues.
