Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Turkiye on Monday on a two-day official visit, state media reported. He is expected to meet Turkish military and political leaders during the trip.

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Turkiye on Monday for a two-day official visit, according to state media.
Radio Pakistan, citing security sources, reported that Field Marshal Munir was given a warm welcome on arrival. The broadcaster said he is expected to hold important meetings during the visit with Turkiye’s military and political leadership. Pakistan Television and APP also reported his arrival and the planned meetings.
The visit comes weeks after General Metin Tokel, commander of the Turkish Land Forces, travelled to Pakistan and met Field Marshal Munir. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the two sides discussed the regional security situation and ways to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation. During the same trip, General Tokel also met Pakistan’s naval and air chiefs.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also visited Turkiye, with that trip centred on economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
