QUETTA: The Balochistan government has ordered payment of Rs11.1 million to the legal heirs of each police official martyred in Ziarat, according to a statement issued on Friday by Shahid Rind, special assistant to the chief minister on information and political affairs.

Rind said the compensation would be delivered directly to the families at their homes so they could receive assistance without delay. He said the release orders had been issued after completing all administrative and financial requirements on the instructions of Chief Minister Balochistan.

He also said the provincial government would continue supporting the affected families beyond the compensation amount. According to the statement, the government will cover maintenance costs, welfare needs of dependents and the education expenses of the martyrs’ children.

Rind said the payment was intended as immediate relief for the bereaved families, while stressing that financial support could not make up for the loss of life.

“Financial compensation can never be a substitute for human lives, yet the Balochistan government stands firmly with the families of the martyrs in this hour of grief and will continue to extend every possible support to them in the future”, he stated.
