Sindh warns private schools against unauthorised fee increases

KARACHI: The Sindh government has warned private schools against increasing tuition fees without prior approval, cautioning that strict action will be taken against institutions found violating the rules.

The Directorate of Inspection and Registration of Private Institutions issued the warning after receiving complaints from parents about unauthorised fee hikes for the new academic session.

Authorities reminded school administrations that any increase in fees must comply with the applicable laws and receive approval from the relevant department before being implemented.

The directorate said schools charging unapproved fees could face legal action, including fines and other penalties under the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Act and Rules.

Parents have been advised not to pay any unauthorised fee increases and to report violations to the relevant authorities for prompt action.

The provincial government said it remains committed to protecting parents from unjustified financial burdens while ensuring that private educational institutions comply with regulatory requirements.
