Four terrorists killed in joint operation near Karak-Kohat border
Four terrorists were killed in a joint operation by Karak and Kohat police in the Khattak Dam area near the districts’ border. Police said a search operation was under way after the exchange of fire.

PESHAWAR: Four terrorists were killed in a joint intelligence-based operation in the Khattak Dam area near the border of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak and Kohat districts, according to a statement issued by Karak police.
Police said credible information about the presence of terrorists in the area was received at around 5am, after which Karak police conducted the operation together with Kohat police. During the action, the militants fired at the police party, prompting what the statement described as an effective response.
Following what police called an intense exchange of fire, four terrorists belonging to the Commander Zahid Group were killed. Karak police said the group had reportedly been involved in the killing of several police officers and personnel.
Police said a search operation had been launched and the area had been cordoned off as authorities worked to gather more information about the identities and criminal records of those killed. In its statement, Karak police also reiterated its resolve against terrorism.
