Move over, Alto? China's cheapest EV under Rs4m has officially landed in Pakistan
Kaiyi has launched the E04 electric hatchback in Pakistan with a starting price under Rs. 4 million and up to 300 km per charge. The move could challenge Suzuki Alto buyers as EV options expand.

For years, the Suzuki Alto has been the go-to choice for Pakistanis looking for an affordable city car.
Now, it might finally have an unexpected challenger.
China's Kaiyi has officially launched the E04 electric hatchback in Pakistan, bringing one of the country's cheapest EVs to the market.
With a starting price of under Rs. 4 million, the E04 lands in a budget range that will instantly catch the attention of buyers comparing small hatchbacks. But unlike the Alto, there's no stopping at the petrol station every few days.
Kaiyi says the E04 can travel up to 300 kilometres on a single charge, making it a practical option for daily commutes and city driving.
Inside, the hatchback features a clean, modern cabin with a simple design focused on comfort and everyday usability.
The company is also expected to introduce a longer-range version for drivers who want even more kilometres between charges.
As fuel prices continue to fluctuate, the idea of plugging in instead of filling up is becoming more appealing than ever.
The Alto may still be Pakistan's budget king.
But for buyers ready to go electric, the Kaiyi E04 has just entered the conversation.
