Policeman wounded in sniper attack on Bannu police station

BANNU: A police constable was injured after a sniper attack targeted the Bakakhel police station in Bannu on Monday, officials said.

The wounded constable was identified as Sahibzada. He was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment following the attack.

Police opened an investigation and tightened security in the area as efforts began to trace those involved. The attack prompted a security response around the police station and adjoining locality, according to officials.

Meanwhile, Bannu District Police Officer Mohammad Furqan Bilal visited the hospital to check on the injured constable and directed the administration to ensure the best possible medical care. Speaking there, he said the welfare and safety of police personnel remained a priority.

“Our policemen are our most valuable asset. No compromise will be made on the treatment and care of the injured constable, and every possible facility will be provided to ensure his speedy recovery,” he said.
