ISLAMABAD: The United States marked the 250th anniversary of American independence in Pakistan by illuminating the Pakistan Monument in the colours of the US flag, according to the US Embassy in Islamabad and the US Consulate General in Lahore.
The display at the landmark in Islamabad ran from July 1 to July 5 and was arranged in coordination with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Capital Development Authority. The illumination was presented as a gesture of friendship between Pakistan and the United States.
The US Mission to Pakistan said the commemorative effort reflected the longstanding relationship between the two countries. It also thanked the Government of Pakistan for supporting events held to mark America’s 250th Independence Day.
