Karachi terror plot foiled as CTD arrests two alleged BLA militants
Sindh CTD says it arrested two alleged BLA militants in Karachi during a July 6 intelligence-based operation with federal agencies. Officials say bomb-making material was recovered and a planned attack was foiled.

KARACHI: Sindh’s Counter-Terrorism Department said on Monday it had disrupted what it described as a major militant plan in Karachi after arresting two suspected members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
In an official statement, the CTD said the arrests were made during an intelligence-based operation conducted on July 6 in coordination with federal intelligence agencies. The department said the action was taken against the backdrop of a recent rise in militant violence in the country, particularly in Karachi.
The CTD said the two men were trained BLA operatives. It added that bomb-making material was recovered during the operation.
According to the department, the suspects had planned to attack sensitive installations as well as offices of law enforcement agencies in the city. The statement said the operation had thwarted the planned attack.
