'It's never too late': 48-year-old Intermediate student goes viral after emotional moment with Punjab minister

A 48-year-old man sitting for his First Year (Intermediate) board examinations has become an unlikely internet hero after an emotional encounter with Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

The minister was visiting Government High School Mustafa Abad to inspect examination arrangements when one candidate immediately caught his attention.

Among hundreds of students was a 48-year-old man, quietly taking the same Intermediate examination as everyone else.

Moved by his determination, Rana Sikandar Hayat stopped to speak with him, embraced him, and wished him success before continuing his inspection.

The heartfelt moment was captured on video and has since gone viral across social media.

Users flooded the comments with praise, calling the candidate an inspiration and saying his journey proves that education has no age limit.

Many also applauded the minister for recognising and encouraging the student's commitment to completing his education, with several saying the gesture could motivate others who had left their studies unfinished to return to the classroom.

The minister's visit formed part of Punjab's ongoing inspections to ensure board examinations are being conducted in a transparent, fair and organised manner across the province.

For many online, however, the inspection became secondary.

The lasting image was of a 48-year-old student proving that it's never too late to sit in an exam hall—and chase a dream that had been waiting for decades.
