ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired the fourth meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Follow-up Committee to assess preparations for Pakistan’s Council of Heads of State chairmanship for 2026-27, and the summit Islamabad is due to host in 2027.

The meeting reviewed progress across key organisational areas for the SCO CHS Summit, including the venue, accommodation, security, finance, media management, transport, and logistics for visiting delegations.

According to the briefing given to the committee, sub-committees presented updates on their respective areas of responsibility as planning moves ahead for the event.

Dar directed the heads of the concerned sub-committees to speed up work on the remaining arrangements, with the review focusing on readiness for Pakistan’s upcoming role and hosting responsibilities under the SCO framework.
