LAHORE: If your weekend plans involve revving a superbike down Lahore's CBD Boulevard, you might want to find a new route.
Lahore's traffic police have officially banned heavy motorcycles from CBD Boulevard, saying the stretch has become a hotspot for racing, wheelies, overspeeding and late-night biker gatherings.
According to Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim, groups of heavy bikers regularly turn the boulevard into an unofficial racetrack, creating dangerous conditions for everyone else on the road.
Now, the crackdown is on.
Traffic police say riders caught performing wheelies, dangerous stunts or reckless speeding—especially on weekend nights—will face strict action. Senior officers have been ordered to personally supervise enforcement operations, while night-shift personnel across Lahore have been placed on high alert.
The message is simple: no more road blockades, no more stunt shows and no more biker mobs.
The operation won't stop at CBD Boulevard either.
Authorities say surveillance has also been tightened on Defence Main Boulevard and Canal Road, where Safe City cameras will be used to identify violators. Anyone caught doing wheelies could face a criminal case.
Traffic police have also announced special inspections of heavy motorcycles as part of the campaign.
The CTO urged parents to keep an eye on young riders, warning that high-speed stunts and reckless riding can quickly turn fatal.
For Lahore's superbike community, weekend rides just got a lot more complicated.
