14 police personnel dismissed in Gwadar for negligence

QUETTA: District Police Gwadar has removed 14 police personnel from service after an inquiry found them responsible for negligence and misconduct linked to an armed attack on Police Station Center on June 7.

The dismissed officials include Sub-Inspector Niaz Ahmed, Head Constable Majid Hussain, Waris Ali, Bilal Ahmed, Muhammad Yousaf, Zahid Ali, Murtaza, Samir, Akbar Ali, Noor Bakhsh, Muhammad Ishaq, Abdul Hakim, Khalid and Amjad Ali. The disciplinary action followed an investigation into the incident, in which the personnel were found guilty of carelessness while on duty, dereliction of duty and breaching security procedures.

According to police sources, unidentified armed men attacked the police station at around 8pm on June 7. The assailants overpowered the personnel on duty and took away official weapons, ammunition and other government equipment before fleeing. No casualties were reported in the attack, though police said a large quantity of arms and official property was looted.

Following the incident, authorities formed an inquiry committee led by SP Security Gwadar Abdul Waheed. After completing its investigation, the committee concluded that the officials had shown serious negligence, corruption and irresponsible conduct during duty, leading to their dismissal.
