Sharjeel touts transport, digital reforms while defending govt

KARACHI: Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the province was moving ahead quickly under the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while defending the provincial government’s performance on governance, media freedom and institutional reforms.
Memon said freedom of the press remained protected in Sindh and claimed no other province in the country offered a comparable level of freedom of expression. He added that the provincial government itself often faced criticism because of that openness.
Referring to the broader national situation, Memon said Pakistan was passing through exceptional circumstances and that all provinces were working with limited resources. He said the federating units had nevertheless contributed by giving priority to national development over their own agendas. In that context, he remarked:
