World Yoga Day takes a wild turn with terrifying exorcism-like race

A Yoga Day demonstration in India has unexpectedly turned into one of the internet’s favourite videos, with viewers comparing it to everything from an exorcism to a zombie invasion.

The now-viral clip shows participants taking part in a “Chakrasana Race” at Yashwant Stadium in Nagpur, organised by the Chakrasan Sports Association as part of International Yoga Day celebrations.

For those unfamiliar, Chakrasana is a yoga pose commonly known as the Wheel Pose, where the body arches backward with hands and feet on the ground. But instead of holding the pose, participants in the race move across the field while maintaining it.

The result? A spectacle that social media users simply cannot stop watching.

The video shows dozens of competitors rapidly moving across the ground in the wheel position, creating a scene many viewers described as looking straight out of a horror film.

“Why does this look like an exorcism competition?” one user joked.

Others compared the racers to spiders, possessed movie characters, and creatures escaping from a haunted house.

Despite the jokes, many viewers were also impressed by the level of flexibility, strength, and coordination required to move at speed while maintaining the demanding yoga posture.

The clip has quickly spread across social media platforms, where reactions range from admiration to complete disbelief.

Whether you see it as athletic skill, advanced yoga, or nightmare fuel, one thing is certain: the Chakrasana Race may have just become the internet’s most unexpectedly entertaining Yoga Day moment.
