Motorway, highway speed caps restored

The government has withdrawn its temporary reduction in speed limits on motorways and national highways. Previous limits for cars, LTVs, PSVs and HTVs have been restored, the Motorway Police said.

Motorway, highway speed caps restored

ISLAMABAD: The government has reversed a recent cut in speed limits on motorways and national highways, reinstating the earlier caps for different vehicle categories, according to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police.

The spokesperson said the limit for cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs) has been restored to 120 kilometres per hour.

For motorways, the speed limit for Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) and Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) has also been brought back to 110 kilometres per hour, the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added that speed limits for cars, LTVs, PSVs and HTVs on national highways have likewise been restored, marking a withdrawal of the earlier temporary reduction announced by the government.
