AJK places 150 banned JAAC members on Fourth Schedule

ISLAMABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has placed 150 members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) on the Fourth Schedule through 10 separate notifications issued by the Home Department.

The action was taken on Thursday under Section 16(1) of the AJK Anti-Terrorism Act, according to the notifications.

Those added to the list include four senior figures described in the notifications as top ringleaders of the banned outfit. The notifications also covered other members against whom, they said, there was substantial evidence of involvement in violent activities.

The Fourth Schedule under the AJK Anti-Terrorism Act contains the names of proscribed or suspected persons.
