Pakistan, US discuss expanding cooperation on skilled workforce

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their intention to broaden bilateral cooperation in multiple areas, with skilled manpower among the subjects discussed during a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The understanding was reached when Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain met US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker. Both sides reiterated their resolve to further expand cooperation across various fields.

During the meeting, Salik Hussain said Pakistan was exporting skilled manpower in different sectors. The discussion focused in part on Pakistan’s workforce and the potential for stronger engagement in this area.

Natalie Baker commended the professional abilities of overseas Pakistanis and said the United States needed skilled workers in several sectors. She also expressed Washington’s interest in deepening bilateral cooperation with Pakistan further.
