ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory police have named PSP officer Kainat Azhar Khan as the new chief traffic officer for the federal capital, while also assigning her additional charge of SSP Operations Safe City.
The appointment was made through a posting and transfer order issued by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, according to an Islamabad Traffic Police official. The official said Khan, a BS-18 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been posted as CTO Islamabad after the transfer of Mohammad Sarfraz Virk, whose services have been placed at the disposal of the Punjab government.
Under the same arrangement, Khan will also oversee the additional charge of SSP Operations Safe City. Awais Ali Khan, who serves as SP Capital Patrols, has been relieved of the additional charge of that post, the official said.
Before her transfer to Islamabad, Kainat Azhar Khan served as chief traffic officer and SP Cantt in Multan. She has also worked as SDPO Civil Lines and SDPO Cantt in Rawalpindi, and the official described her as having broad experience in traffic management and operational policing.
