Seven arrested in Karachi raid on alleged illegal call centre
The NCCIA says it arrested seven suspects in a raid on an alleged illegal call centre in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Officials said the group was accused of hacking and unauthorised access to banking and credit card information.

KARACHI: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) said it arrested seven people during a raid on what it described as an illegal call centre in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area on Wednesday.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the operation was carried out in Block-12, where the suspects were allegedly involved in deceiving people through hacking and by gaining unauthorised access to bank account and credit card information.
The agency identified the arrested suspects as Raheel Naurus, Leonard Edgar Dean, Joshua Harrison, Leon Samson Dean, Edison Aftab, Hamza Shaikh and Arnold Dean. During the search, officials seized five CPUs, one laptop, nine mobile phones, two vehicles and documents the agency described as important.
The spokesperson said a case had been registered against the seven men under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as well as the Pakistan Penal Code.
