ISLAMABAD: The Babusar Top road has been closed again for all kinds of traffic until June 6 as authorities continue work to remove snow, glacier buildup and debris from the high-altitude route linking Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to an official travel advisory, continued snowfall and adverse weather in and around Babusar Top have disrupted the ongoing clearance operation. The advisory said heavy snow and glacier deposits are still present at several points along the road.
The National Highway Authority and the district administration are carrying out a full clearance operation before the road is reopened for routine traffic, officials said.
Officials also said the route had earlier been opened on a one-way basis to facilitate travel to Babusar Top and Gilgit-Baltistan.
