21 booked in Faisalabad over alleged attack on police during raid
Police in Faisalabad booked 21 people under anti-terror charges over an alleged attack on a raiding team in Chak 208 RB. In separate cases, two policemen were booked after a theft suspect escaped, while a drug convict was sentenced to 57 years.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Police in Faisalabad have registered a case against 21 people under the Anti-Terrorism Act over an alleged attack on a police team during a raid in Chak 208 RB, an FIR lodged on Thursday stated.
In the first information report, Kotwali Police SHO Arsalan Bari said he and other policemen had gone to the area to arrest suspects wanted in a firing incident outside the district courts complex a few days earlier. He stated that Rizwan Sajid Dogar, 10 named accomplices and 10 unidentified associates allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the police party. The SHO said all police personnel remained unharmed, while all 21 suspects escaped.
Rizwan and others had already been booked under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with the earlier firing outside the district courts complex, in which two of their rivals were allegedly injured.
Two policemen booked after detainee escapes
In a separate development, Faisalabad’s D-Type Colony Police registered a case against two officials of Mianwali City Police over alleged negligence after an accused in a theft case fled from custody late on Wednesday night.
An FIR lodged by Mianwali City SHO Asif Sultan stated Sub-Inspector Akram Khan and Assistant Sub-Inspector Dildar Hussain had taken custody of Ali Akbar, a theft suspect from Sahiwal, from Faisalabad district jail on travel remand for investigation in theft cases in Mianwali. The complainant stated that while the two officials were having a meal at a hotel on Samundri Road in Faisalabad, the suspect got into a scuffle with them, broke free from custody and escaped. The two policemen had not been arrested at the time of the report.
Drug dealer sentenced in narcotics case
Separately, Additional District and Sessions Judge Naveed ul Rehman sentenced a drug convict to a combined 57 years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs2.92 million in a narcotics case, a police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said Muhammad Shabbir Hussain, a resident of Chak 203 RB, had been arrested by Gulberg Police on April 8, 2024. Police had said they recovered a large quantity of hashish, opium, ice and heroin from his possession.
