Eight sexual assault cases reported in Faisalabad

Faisalabad: Police have registered eight separate sexual assault cases involving five women and three minors in different parts of Faisalabad and launched raids to apprehend the suspects, officials said on Saturday.

According to police reports, one of the cases was registered in Bilal Park, Jaranwala, where a woman was allegedly lured and assaulted by a suspect identified as Ibrahim alias Mithu. Police said the suspect also allegedly recorded objectionable videos of the woman.

In another case reported from Chak 119-GB, a girl was allegedly lured and assaulted by a suspect identified as Nawaz along with others, according to police.

Police also registered a case in 114-GB, where a 14-year-old girl was allegedly lured and assaulted by Junaid alias Ranjha.

Another incident was reported from Ilyas Garden on Ring Road within the limits of Airport police station. Police said a woman was allegedly lured and assaulted by a suspect identified as Allah Rakha. The suspect also allegedly made objectionable videos of her and pressured her to seek divorce, threatening to release the footage if she did not comply.

Airport police registered a case under relevant legal provisions and began efforts to trace and arrest the suspect.

In 592-GB, which falls within the jurisdiction of Karkhana police station, a woman was allegedly assaulted at gunpoint by a suspect identified as Waqar alias Kashi after he entered her house while she was alone, police said.

In a separate case in 100-JB within Nishatabad police limits, a teenage boy was allegedly lured and assaulted by a suspect identified as Nauman.

Police action underway

Officials said cases had been registered in all the reported incidents and raids were being carried out to arrest those nominated in the complaints.

The incidents were reported from different police jurisdictions across Faisalabad, including Jaranwala, Airport, Karkhana and Nishatabad areas, according to the police reports cited by officials.

No further details were provided in the police account beyond the registration of cases and the launch of raids to detain the suspects.
