Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited a Nadra mega centre near Safoora Goth in Karachi and reviewed public service facilities. He directed authorities to prioritise services for senior citizens and women.

KARACHI: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday made an unannounced visit to a National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) mega centre near Safoora Goth on University Road, where he examined arrangements for public service delivery.
During the visit, he looked over different sections of the facility and reviewed the standard of services being offered to members of the public. He also met citizens who had come to obtain computerised national identity cards (CNICs) and other important documents, seeking direct feedback on their experience at the centre.
Naqvi asked visitors about the efficiency of the document processing system and whether they had encountered any problems during application and issuance procedures. People present at the centre expressed satisfaction with the facilities and services available there.
Several visitors told the minister they had not faced lengthy waits for the processing of CNICs and other documents. They said their turns came on time and that staff had been cooperative and supportive throughout the process.
The interior minister also went to various service counters and spoke with elderly visitors. He listened to their concerns and sought details of any difficulties they were facing while accessing Nadra services.
Priority for vulnerable groups
Emphasising the need to make services easier for vulnerable segments of society, Naqvi directed the relevant authorities to give priority to cases involving senior citizens and women so as to reduce inconvenience and improve service delivery.
At the end of the visit, he praised the work of Nadra management and staff for their efforts to provide quality services to the public. He also underlined the government’s commitment to strengthening citizen facilitation and sustaining high service standards at Nadra centres across the country.
