Punjab braces for hotter weather after rain system weakens
Punjab is expected to see hotter and drier weather after the recent rain system dissipated. Authorities have urged people to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
LAHORE: Temperatures are expected to climb across Punjab after the weather system that brought recent rainfall to the province weakened, according to the Meteorological Department.
The department said hot and dry conditions were likely to prevail across Punjab during the next 24 hours as strong sunshine returned on Sunday morning following the end of the rain-producing system.
Weather experts said temperatures were expected to rise gradually, with the minimum temperature likely to stay around 28°C and the maximum reaching 38°C. The Met Office also said no new rain-bearing system was expected to enter Punjab in the coming days, increasing the possibility of stronger heat.
Authorities have advised people to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, drink plenty of water and take precautionary steps to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses.
