Man tortures, shoots mother
A man was arrested in Lahore's Shadbagh area after allegedly assaulting and shooting his 55-year-old mother during a domestic dispute. Police said the woman was taken to hospital with multiple assault injuries and a gunshot wound.
LAHORE: A man was arrested in Shadbagh after allegedly attacking his 55-year-old mother during a domestic dispute and shooting her, according to investigators.
Police said the suspect allegedly assaulted Zubaida Bibi with an iron rod and bricks after an argument. Investigators said he also dragged her by the hair before opening fire with a pistol, leaving her seriously injured.
Police reached the scene after receiving an emergency call through Helpline 15. Officials said the suspect was taken into custody at the spot and a weapon was recovered from him.
The injured woman was shifted to hospital, where doctors said she had head and shoulder injuries consistent with physical assault as well as a bullet wound to her leg. Police officials said a case had been registered against the suspect. Investigators further said the man had previously been booked in a case involving violence against his mother and allegedly attacked her again after being released from prison.
