SSGC has announced gas supply timings for domestic and commercial consumers during the three days of Eid ul Adha. The company said normal supply timings will resume from May 30.

ISLAMABAD: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced the gas supply timetable for domestic and commercial consumers for the three days of Eid ul Adha.
According to the company, gas supply on the eve of Eid ul Adha, May 26, will remain available until 12am. On the first two days of Eid, May 27 and May 28, supply will start at 7:30am and continue without interruption until midnight.
SSGC said gas will be available until 10pm on the third day of Eid, May 29. It added that from May 30, the supply schedule will return to normal timings, with gas available during designated meal hours.
Pakistan will observe Eid ul Adha on May 27 after the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on May 17 that the Zilhaj moon had been sighted. Following the moon-sighting announcement, the federal government declared a three-day public holiday for the occasion.
A Cabinet Division notification issued on May 20 said the prime minister had approved May 26, 27 and 28, 2026, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as public holidays for Eid ul Adha.
Eid ul Adha commemorates the Qur'anic account of Prophet Ibrahim's (PBUH) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah, before the sacrifice was divinely replaced with a ram. The festival is also marked by prayers, family gatherings and charitable giving, including the ritual sacrifice of livestock and distribution of meat among relatives, friends and underprivileged people.
