Two terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat operation

LAKKI MARWAT: Two terrorists were killed and another was injured during an intelligence-based operation in the Kaichi Kamar area of Lakki Marwat district, according to a security official.

The official said on Saturday that the operation was launched after authorities received information about the presence of terrorists in the trans-river belt known as the Kurrum Par area. He said the bodies of the two slain terrorists were taken into custody following the raid.

According to the official, the militants killed in the operation were directly involved in the recent Serai Naurang blast. He said that attack left 10 people dead, including two police officials.

The blast had triggered fear and panic in the area, with residents demanding immediate and firm action against those responsible, the official said.

Operation followed tracing of network

The security official said that after the Sarai Naurang attack, security forces tracked the terrorist network by using human intelligence as well as modern technology. He said the network was then dismantled in what he described as a successful operation.

He termed the raid a significant development against the militants linked to the Serai Naurang blast and other subversive activities in the area.
