Free M-Tag replacement deadline announced for motorway users
Motorists with M-Tags older than five years can replace them free until May 31, 2026. Fees start June 1, and tags not replaced by July 1 may be blocked—use official centres or helpline 1313.

One Network Smart Transport and Security Solutions has announced that motorists using M-Tags older than five years can replace them free of cost until May 31, 2026.
According to the advisory, replacement charges will come into effect from June 1, while outdated M-Tags that are not replaced before July 1 will be blocked from use on motorways and connected road systems.
Authorities said replacement fees for older tags will rise to Rs150 after the free replacement deadline, while motorists obtaining replacement tags later will be charged Rs300.
M-Tag is a prepaid RFID-based transponder system used on Pakistan’s motorways and major highways for cashless toll collection and vehicle identification.
Officials said vehicles without valid M-Tags could face additional charges and restrictions at motorway checkpoints, making timely replacement important for regular commuters.
Motorists have been advised to visit designated centres or use official channels to replace older tags before the deadline to avoid service disruption and additional costs.
The company’s helpline 1313 remains available for information and assistance regarding the replacement process.
Authorities said the move is part of broader efforts to modernise tolling systems and improve traffic management on Pakistan’s motorway network.
