Police register rape case involving orphaned boy in Bhakkar
Police in Bhakkar have registered a case after an orphaned eighth-grade boy alleged he was raped at gunpoint and filmed. In separate developments, police booked five suspects in a murder case, eight people were hurt in a truck crash, and BISE Sargodha approved its 2026-27 budget.

SARGODHA: Police have registered a case after an orphaned boy alleged that he was raped at gunpoint and filmed in Bhakkar, according to a first information report lodged with Chandani Chowk police.
According to the FIR, a youth identified as K from the Chandani Chowk area of Bhakkar, along with his accomplice S, allegedly took the eighth-grade student, identified as H, to a hut where K raped him at gunpoint. The FIR states that the suspect also made a video of the assault and threatened to kill the boy if he disclosed the incident.
The boy later informed his uncle, Zaman, who then approached the police. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 376iii and 292 of the Pakistan Penal Code and started an investigation.
Five booked in Chak 74 NB killing
In a separate incident, Jhal Chakian police booked five people over the killing of a young man in Chak 74 NB.
According to the FIR, armed men including Ikram, Hasnain and Mushtaq, along with two unidentified accomplices, allegedly shot dead Mudassar Haider over old enmity before fleeing the scene. The body was moved to hospital for postmortem examination, and police said the investigation is under way.
Fire damages house in Sargodha city
A fire caused by an electric short circuit in a UPS damaged household belongings in Bismillah Homes in Sargodha city.
The family was not at home when the blaze broke out, and household items were reduced to ashes. A Rescue 1122 firefighting team brought the fire under control.
Eight injured in truck collision
At least eight people were injured when two trucks collided at Dadan Chowk on Sargodha-Jhang Road.
According to police sources, a Mazda truck travelling from Bhakkar to Sargodha collided with another truck going from Faisalabad to Mianwali. The injured were taken to hospital, while police reached the site and began an investigation.
BISE Sargodha approves budget
The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Sargodha approved a surplus budget of Rs2,922.7 million for fiscal year 2026-27.
The board allocated Rs2,322 million for expenses, including Rs784 million for administrative costs and Rs797 million for operating expenses. Other approved allocations included Rs39 million for advance grants to employees’ families, Rs12 million for student stipends and medals, Rs1.9 million for entertainment, Rs1.96 million for loan advances to board employees, and Rs36 million for computer hardware and other IT equipment.
The BISE also approved Rs472 million for conducting matriculation and intermediate examinations, Rs0.8 million for unforeseen expenses, Rs200 million for store purchases, Rs7.1 million for other expenses, Rs280 million for pension contribution and security benefits, and Rs2.7 million for employees hired on deputation. It also earmarked Rs15.136 million for office renovation, Rs6.267 million for staff residences, Rs6 million for miscellaneous building repairs, and Rs65.7 million and Rs153.17 million for ongoing and new buildings, respectively.
