Suspect held over attack on PML-N lawmaker in Toba Tek Singh
Police in Toba Tek Singh say they have arrested a suspect accused of planning the attack on PML-N MPA Col (retd) Sardar Ayub Gadhi’s outhouse. In a separate incident, a storm brought down an electricity pole onto houses in Jhang, damaging property and disrupting power.

TOBA TEK SINGH: Crime Control Department police in Toba Tek Singh arrested a suspect on Thursday in connection with the attack on the outhouse of PML-N MPA Col (retd) Sardar Ayub Gadhi, according to police.
Police said the detained man, identified as Abdul Qayyum Gadhi, was taken into custody during a raid in Lahore. They alleged that he had planned the attack on the lawmaker’s outhouse.
The assault took place a few days ago at Col (retd) Sardar Ayub Gadhi’s outhouse in Chak 184 GB. In the attack, the PML-N lawmaker from PP-122 was critically wounded, while four other people were killed. Two of his aides also sustained injuries.
According to the reported details, Ayub Gadhi is being treated in the intensive care unit at Lahore CMH. He underwent multiple operations after the attack to remove six bullets from his body.
Storm damages houses after electricity pole collapses in Jhang
In a separate incident, an electricity pole fell onto houses in Chak 457 JB on Gojra Road in Jhang on Thursday evening during strong winds and rain that were followed by a hailstorm.
The incident caused panic among residents of the area. No injuries were reported, but the walls of the affected houses and household belongings suffered partial damage. Power supply to the locality was also completely disrupted.
Local residents said the pole had already become weak and claimed that Fesco officials had not acted despite repeated complaints.
The two incidents were reported from central Punjab on Thursday, with one involving progress in a high-profile criminal investigation in Toba Tek Singh and the other highlighting damage caused by severe weather in Jhang.
Police have so far said that the man arrested in Lahore was involved in planning the attack on the MPA’s outhouse. The attack had left the lawmaker in critical condition and resulted in multiple deaths and injuries among those present at the site.
Meanwhile, residents in Jhang faced disruption after the collapse of the electricity pole, which damaged homes and cut off electricity in the area during the storm.
