Stray dog attack in Shakargarh injures man, child and kills five goats
A senior citizen and a child were injured in stray dog attacks in Shakargarh tehsil, where five goats were also killed and a buffalo wounded. Residents say repeated appeals to authorities have not produced action.

NAROWAL: A senior citizen and a child were injured, while five goats were killed and a buffalo was wounded in separate stray dog attacks reported over the past couple of days in Shakargarh tehsil.
According to local sources, a pack of stray dogs attacked Muhammad Siddique, an elderly man, and Ehsan Ali, a child, in Kanjroor village of Shakargarh tehsil, leaving both injured.
In another incident in the same village, stray dogs allegedly attacked livestock, killing five goats and injuring a buffalo, the sources said.
Local sources further said that stray dogs also attacked goats in Paswal village of Kot Ninan.
Residents report growing concern
Residents of the area said the problem of stray dogs had become increasingly serious in several villages of Shakargarh tehsil.
Sabir Naz, a resident of the tehsil, said packs of stray dogs could be seen moving through fields and streets in Reba Mor village and nearby localities. He said the dogs had also injured five goats in the same village.
Two local residents, Nasir and Aftab Ahmed, voiced concern over what they described as a rising number of stray dogs in the area.
They said they had repeatedly approached the health department and the district administration, asking them to take action to address the issue, but no effective steps had been taken.
Multiple incidents in recent days
The reported attacks took place in different parts of Shakargarh tehsil over the last few days, affecting both people and animals.
The incidents in Kanjroor village involved injuries to two people as well as losses to livestock, while separate attacks were also reported from Paswal village of Kot Ninan and Reba Mor village.
Residents said stray dog packs were roaming openly in streets and agricultural fields, adding to fears among people living in the affected areas.
The incidents have added to local concern over public safety and livestock losses in villages of Shakargarh tehsil, where residents say the number of stray dogs has been increasing.
