Girl dies in stray dog attack, Punjab CM seeks report from authorities

LAHORE: An eight-year-old girl lost her life after a stray dog attack in the Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate locality.

The child, identified as Mehar Qaiser, was reportedly mauled near B-Block in Township. According to police, the dog caused serious injuries to her neck and arm, including a fatal wound to the jugular vein.

She was immediately taken to a hospital in critical condition but could not survive despite medical treatment. Authorities said the family has chosen not to take legal action.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed profound grief over the incident and offered condolences to the family. She has also directed officials to submit an urgent report to fix responsibility and prevent similar incidents.
